This harness uses OEM-style connectors that plug directly into the factory wiring and piggy-back off the original plugs. That means:

Rear Window Control Without the Key

Splice-in wiring is a common way to get this feature, and it comes with a cost: cut factory wires, connections that can fail on and off over time, and wiring that never goes back to original. TEQ Offroad built this kit to avoid all of that by plugging into the connectors Toyota already put in the truck.

The switch is custom too. It is a compact momentary switch made for this kit, so the window only moves while you press it, for a factory-style feel.

Plugs Into Factory Connectors

Unplug the factory connectors, plug the harness in line, and the original wiring stays intact. No wire is cut at any point.

Over 130 Inches Long

The length lets you mount the switch almost anywhere in the rear of the truck without extensions. Our favorite spot is next to the rear 12V outlet.

A Momentary Switch Built for It

Compact momentary switches like this are hard to find off the shelf, so ours are custom-built for the kit. The window moves only while the button is held.

Always-On Rear Window Harness Questions

Fitment
Will it work on my 2001 or 2002 4Runner?
Possibly not. The harness is made for 1996–2000 trucks, and some 2001–2002 4Runners were not compatible in our testing.
Installing
Do I need wiring experience?
No special tools or wiring experience are needed. Unplug the factory connectors, plug the harness in line, mount the switch, and tidy the wire with the included zip ties.
Can I go back to stock later?
Yes. Nothing is cut or spliced, so unplugging the harness and reconnecting the factory plugs returns the wiring to original.
Using it
Where should I mount the switch?
Anywhere the 130-plus-inch harness reaches in the rear of the vehicle. We like it near the rear 12V outlet.
