3rd Gen 4Runner Mods
Here's the place to upgrade the small things that make a big difference inside, outside, and under the hood of your 3rd Gen 4Runner (1996–2002). Every mod on this page is built to work hard, last long, and fit your vehicle right.
Adventurers know that stock parts won’t keep up with how you use your rig, not on the trail, and surely not on long drives. If you’re tired of duct-tape solutions, useless OEM panels, and dead space in your cabin, you’re in the right place.
Find the best products and accessories to improve your 3rd Gen 4Runner's style and performance below.
Center Console Molle Panel (1996–2002 4Runner)
If your console area feels like a wasted mess of empty plastic and loose gear, here's the fix right here. The Center Console Molle Panel gives you usable real estate on the side of your console — radios, med kits, multitools — mount what you need, access it fast.
No gimmicks. Just function. Built to fit clean and stay solid.
Center Console USB 12V Power Panel | Replaces Ashtray (1996–2002)
Still running that factory ashtray? Swap it out for something that actually gives you value — a billet aluminum USB and 12V power panel that improves your vehicle's interior.
The clean, easy install drops right into the ashtray slot and gives you real charging access. It’s solid. It’s smart. And once it’s in, you’ll wonder why you ever went without it.
Modular Phone Mount for 3rd Gen 4Runner (1996–2002)
Your smartphone shouldn’t be sliding around your dash or clipped to a weak plastic mount that pops off every time you hit a bump.
The Modular Accessory Mount (MAM) locks into the center console cleanly and gives your phone a secure, stable home for nav, tunes, or trail apps. It is the perfect solution that always works.
Under Hood LED Light Kit for All Makes and Toyotas
You know the drill — trail breakdown, pop the hood, pitch black. The LED Light Kit lights up your engine bay so you see what you’re working on.
If you’re the kind of driver who doesn’t shy away from night runs or long trips, the kit pays for itself the first time you use it.
Door Molle Panels (1996–2002 4Runner)
Storage that’s actually accessible while you’re buckled in? That’s what the Door Molle Panels deliver. They’re designed to give you mounting space on both front doors, without getting in the way of window operation or comfort.
Great for tools, comms, or just keeping trail necessities where they belong.
LED Pod Brackets for High Clearance Bumpers (1996–2002)
If you’re running a high clearance bumper, you know stock lighting positions won’t cut it. These brackets let you mount your LED pods solidly — no shake, no sag, no sketchy welds.
They’re tight, low-profile, and engineered to line up right with most aftermarket bumper setups and various wheel designs.
Differential Breather Relocation Kit for Toyotas
If you’re hitting off-road trails or water crossings, the stock diff breather sits way too low. All it takes is one dip, and you’ve got water in your diff.
Teq Offroad's Differential Breather Relocation Kit, made in the USA, moves it to a safe, dry spot. Once it’s in, it’s out of sight and out of your worry zone for good. Think of it like cheap insurance against a blown rear end.

from 178 reviewsOh how i needed this to work on wiring. Simple install. Very much pleased.

Love this kit, communication was on point, instructions and install were a breeze. High quality parts, will be ordering again!

I love the TEQ center console w walkie-talkie attachment. It is as an easy install, now my phone is in a great spot, as is my walkie talkie.

Great quality and looks good, easy installation. Thanks

Light weight hig h grade aluminum design. Can't go wrong with that and an easy install. Great product!

I absolutely love my Tacoma, but there really isn’t anywhere to put frequently used items. I work out of my truck, and need access to things. While the floor worked, it’s ugly. This thing is solid, fits amazing, and really spruced up the interior. I love myself a functional “mod”. 10/10 would recommend.

I was a bit hesitant that a three sided & punched frame mounted to plastic would be rigid enough to support cell phones and a Garmin on RAM mount 1" ball joints with the extra leverage they would be adding, but so far after installing, this bracket is stout, I get very little vibration and a solid connection using quad-lock components for the cell phone. Great product! I'm thinking of getting another for the fjz80 and flipping it upsidedown compared to the mounting config of the first Gen tundra as the deck opening sits lower and would be obscuring the screen view if mounted upright... Thanks Dimitriy!

To whom it may concern,
I recently bought the center console modular accessory for my 2012 Tacoma xrunner…I was very impressed how it was so easy to install…I can now secure my phone charging cord without it being too long and getting in the way of my stereo system screen…I highly recommend purchasing the console modular system…
Thank you
Tyler

Well worth the wait! I ordered a gen 1 Tacoma dash mount and it fit great and was super easy to install. Absolutely love it!

Love how this mount is super secured and the placement is perfect!

Installation was super easy with the instructions provided. I would recommend using a pick or something similar to mark the spots where the self tapping screws go.
Once installed it’s very sturdy and works great for storing accessories. Overall this is a very useful interior mod and it looks awesome.

Fits perfect - very solid once installed.

It looks really cool. A lot of people like it. I bolted in. I think it’s the best way because of the wave and vibrations of the truck with your accessories is highly recommended ,but the mouth is great. I haven’t loaded it up yet but looks really cool. 👌🏽

billet insert is well-made and securely snaps into place with no hardware. I’m not a fan of blue in our old Toyotas so I ordered a different plug with green backlighting. if your cup holder is still present & functional you absolutely NEED the provided 90° female blade terminals - you won’t be able to get away with straight ones

I mounted the MAM on my 97 Tacoma. I removed my non functional cup holder and it fits and works fine.
