Design Details at the Grab Handle
The HAM shares space with a handle people still use, and it has to deal with old hardware.
Shares the Handle
The bracket mounts where the handle bolts in, and the grab handle stays fully usable afterward, so passengers still have something to hold on a rough road.
Fresh Hardware in the Box
Factory Phillips handle bolts on these trucks are often seized or stripped. Every HAM ships with new bolts, so once the old ones are out you are not reusing worn hardware.
Built Like the MAM
It uses the same 1/8" aluminum, laser cut and CNC bent, and the same textured black powder coat. RAM balls and common mounting arms attach directly.
3rd Gen 4Runner Handle Mount Questions
Ordering
Which side should I choose?
A driver-side HAM keeps a phone or gauge in the driver’s view, and a passenger-side HAM suits a radio the co-pilot runs. Driver + Passenger gets both and saves $20.
Does it fit a 2003 or newer 4Runner?
No. It fits 1996–2002 4Runners only.
Installing
How do I get a stuck factory handle bolt out?
If the Phillips head will not turn or starts to strip, drill the bolt out or use a screw extractor, then install the new bolts from the kit.
Using it
Is there a radio holder made for the HAM?
Yes. Choose Yes for the walkie option, or buy the HAM radio holder separately. Its notch-and-hole design holds older and newer walkie-talkies.
Can I run it alongside the dash MAM?
Yes. The HAM sits at the handle and the MAM sits on the console, so they do not compete for space.
