4Runner Power Panel Questions

Contact us
Which TEQ power panel fits my 4Runner?
The 5th Gen Cargo Power Panel fits 2010–2024 4Runners, the 4th Gen panel fits 2003–2009 and the 3rd Gen panel fits 1996–2002, all trims. Each one mounts in the factory rear power panel location in the cargo area. For 1996–2002 trucks there is also a Center Console USB 12V Power Panel that replaces the ashtray.
Do I have to cut or splice any wires?
No. The cargo panels plug into the factory rear outlet connector with a plug-and-play connector, then snap into the factory opening. No wire taps and no splices.
How long does installation take?
The 5th Gen and 4th Gen panels install in under 2 minutes, by hand, with no tools: pull the factory panel, plug the factory connector into the TEQ panel and press it in until the clips lock. The 3rd Gen panel installs the same plug-and-play way in 4 steps.
Do I keep the factory 120V outlet on my 5th Gen?
Yes. Your factory 120V outlet moves into the TEQ panel and sits next to a capped 12V socket. The 120V outlet itself is not included. If your 4Runner came without a 120V outlet, choose the cover with switch option to fill that spot with one more switch.
Does the 4th Gen panel have a 120V outlet?
No. The 4th Gen panel carries two capped 12V sockets, a 45W USB-C PD port, a QC3.0 USB-A port, a volt meter and 3 lighted switches.
What is the difference between Fully Assembled and Billet Housing Only?
Fully Assembled is the complete panel with every port, switch and the volt meter already mounted. Billet Housing Only is the same machined, snap-fit billet housing for owners of another brand's rear panel who want to move their existing components into billet aluminum.
What can I run from the extra switches?
On the 5th Gen panel, the 2 extra switches come pre-wired with 12V for rear lighting or other accessories, with no new power wires to run to the battery. On the 4th Gen and 3rd Gen panels, the extra switches are there for accessories you add to your build.
What warranty and returns do I get?
Every TEQ Offroad Cargo Power Panel is backed by a lifetime warranty, and TEQ Offroad offers a 30-day return window. See the refund policy for details.

4Runner Rear Power Panel Buying Guide

A rear power panel replaces the single factory outlet in your 4Runner's cargo area with a panel that adds fast USB charging, 12V power, switches and a volt meter where you actually load gear. Here is how to pick the right one for your generation.

5th Gen 4Runner rear power panel (2010–2024)

Depending on trim, a 5th Gen may or may not have the factory 120V outlet in the cargo area, and a rear USB-C upgrade should keep what already works. The TEQ 5th Gen Cargo Power Panel keeps your factory 120V outlet, adds a capped 12V socket, a 45W USB-C PD port and a QC3.0 USB-A port, plus 3 lighted switches. The 2 extra switches come pre-wired with 12V, so rear lights or other accessories can be switched from the cargo area without running new power wires to the battery. No 120V outlet on your truck? The cover with switch option fills that spot.

4th Gen 4Runner rear cargo power panel (2003–2009)

The 2003–2009 4Runner's factory rear outlet was designed years before USB-C. The 4th Gen panel takes over that spot with two capped 12V sockets, plus 45W USB-C PD, QC3.0 USB-A, a volt meter, a lighted master switch and two extra switches for accessories you add later. It has no 120V outlet.

3rd Gen 4Runner rear USB and 12V (1996–2002)

For the 3rd Gen, the cargo panel adds a capped 12V socket with a marine-style cap, 45W USB-C PD, QC3.0 USB-A, a multi-color volt meter and 4 lighted switches in the factory rear outlet spot. Up front, the Center Console USB 12V Power Panel snaps into the ashtray slot with no screws and accepts any standard universal 12V socket, including an optional 45W USB-C + QC3.0 USB-A socket and a plug-and-play harness.

What to Look for in a 4Runner Power Panel

  • Material. Billet aluminum stays rigid through trail vibration, cargo-area heat and gear sliding in and out. 3D-printed plastic can crack or separate at the layer lines if something heavy hits it.
  • Real fast charging. Look for a 45W USB-C Power Delivery port, not just a basic USB plug, so phones, tablets and many laptops charge at full speed.
  • Switches and a volt meter. A master switch lets you shut the panel off, extra switches give you room to grow, and a volt meter shows battery voltage before you run a fridge overnight.
  • Plug-and-play wiring. A connector that mates with the factory rear outlet plug means no splicing and nothing to rattle loose on washboard roads.
  • Snap fit. Clips that lock the panel into the factory opening keep it flush.

Fully Assembled or Billet Housing Only?

Choose Fully Assembled for a complete panel that is ready to plug in. Choose Billet Housing Only if you already run another brand's rear panel and want to move its components into a machined, snap-fit billet housing.

Install

The 5th Gen and 4th Gen panels install in under 2 minutes, by hand, with no tools: pop out the factory panel and unplug its connector, plug the factory connector into the TEQ panel (5th Gen owners move the factory 120V outlet over first), then press it in until the clips lock and it sits flush.

Every TEQ cargo power panel has a lifetime warranty and a 30-day return window. See the refund policy for details.
