What Makes a TEQ Offroad Dash Phone Holder Different
We design, measure, and test each dash mount phone holder on real Toyotas, not generic templates. Dmitriy, the founder of TEQ Offroad, personally designs and tests each dash mount on the same trucks you drive, starting with his own 1998 4Runner.
What You Get with Every TEQ Cell Phone Dash Mount
Each rail follows the same rules as the rest of TEQ's gear: strong materials and a fit that looks like Toyota put it there.
5052 Aluminum, Not Plastic
Every Toyota phone mount is cut from high-grade 5052 aluminum. It won't rust like steel or snap like the plastic holders you've already thrown away. Your phone stays put on pavement and trail alike.
A 5-Minute, Bolt-In Install
Each dash mount quickly bolts into the dash with basic hand tools in about 5 min.
Powder-Coated, OEM-Style Finish
Every rail is shaped for its specific Toyota interior. The powder-coated finish protects the metal and blends into the dash like a factory part.
Gear That Pairs with Your Phone Dash Mount
Round out your interior with accessories built to the same standard. A molle panel, a USB power panel, or under-hood lighting keeps the rest of your gear as organized as your dash.
Frequently Asked Questions About Toyota Dash Mount Phone Holders
What's included with the Toyota cell phone holder kit?
Each Toyota dash mount kit includes the mounting rail, all necessary hardware (bolts, washers, brackets), and detailed installation instructions. Phone holders and RAM mount balls are sold separately, so you can use what you already have or choose the exact setup you need.
Will this work with my phone case?
Yes. TEQ dash mount rails work with any standard mounting system (RAM, MagSafe, Rokform, etc.), so as long as your phone case is compatible with your chosen phone holder, you're good to go. The rail itself is just the mounting platform.
Are you allowed to have a phone holder on your dashboard?
Yes. A dashboard phone holder is legal across the US as long as it doesn't block your view of the road. Most states regulate windshield placement more strictly than the dash, which is one reason a low-profile car dash phone holder is the safer pick. Check your state's rules for the specifics.
Are you allowed to have a phone mount in the US?
Generally, yes. Phone mounts are allowed in every US state as long as the mount doesn't obstruct your view or interfere with driving. A few states limit where windshield mounts can go, so a dash-mounted setup is usually the simplest way to stay compliant. When in doubt, check your local regulations.
Is it better to put a Toyota phone mount on the dash or windshield?
The dash wins for most drivers. A dash-mounted Toyota phone holder sits at a natural eye line without blocking the windshield, and it won't drop your phone when suction cups give out in summer heat or winter cold. On rough roads, a bolted-in dash mount holds where a windshield mount shakes loose.
How long does installation take?
Installing a TEQ dash mount takes about 5 minutes. The process is straightforward and uses included hardware with no advanced tools required.
Do I need to drill into my dash?
You won't be cutting or doing big drill-bit holes, but installation does use the provided self-tapping screws to secure the rail to factory mounting points. No dash cutting. Installs in minutes with the included hardware.
Can I adjust the position after installation?
You won't need to move the rail itself—it's made to fit a specific spot on your Toyota's dash. But the rail has multiple mounting points, so you can easily adjust or swap out your gear anytime. It's a modular setup built for flexibility.
Will this interfere with my airbags or other safety features?
No. TEQ dash mounts are designed to avoid airbag deployment zones and don't interfere with any safety systems. Installation uses existing dash structure points that are separate from airbag components.
How does the magnetic phone holder work?
A magnetic holder uses a strong magnet in the cradle that grips a metal plate or MagSafe ring on the back of your phone or case. You tap the phone on and pull it off with one hand. The magnet is only half the equation, though. Pair a quality MagSafe or RAM-based magnetic holder with a bolted-in TEQ rail and the whole setup stays steady, even off-road.
Will this work with RAM mounts?
Yes. TEQ rails are compatible with all standard RAM mount ball sizes (1" and 1.5") and AMPS mounting patterns. If you already have RAM phone holders, tablets, or other accessories, they'll bolt right onto the rail.
Can I mount multiple devices on one rail?
Yes, you can. That's one of the main advantages of the Toyota accessory mount system. Depending on rail length, you can mount your phone, GPS, CB radio, action camera, or other gear on the same rail—just space them out along the mounting slots.
Does this work with MagSafe or magnetic phone mounts?
Yes. If your magnetic phone mount has a standard RAM ball or AMPS base, it'll work with TEQ rails. Many magnetic mounts use these standard mounting systems, but double-check your specific mount's compatibility.
What's the weight limit for the rail?
The rail can easily handle multiple devices totaling several pounds—phones, tablets, radios, cameras, etc. The limiting factor is usually your mounting accessories (phone holders, arms, etc.) rather than the rail itself. TEQ rails are built to handle real-world off-road loads without issue.
